MAMA Teens Art Space

MAMA now has a permanent creative space for high-school age teens on the Level 1 Mezzanine.
Work Experience
Students will experience all aspects of a working art museum, including exhibitions and curatorial, education and public programs, and visitor experience.
Placements are limited. We strongly recommend students apply early, and consider organising alternative work placement options.
RAW
RAW is an annual open call for artists aged 16 - 21, showcasing the best original artworks being produced by young people of the Murray region. The resulting exhibition highlights the unique perspectives and experiences of our local young people with artworks ranging from painting, drawing, photography & digital media, and sculpture & installation.
Sketch Club
Have you always wanted to draw or crave the motivation to put pencil to paper? Sketch Club is a free monthly meet-up for drawing enthusiasts and those just starting out.
Volunteer
Volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing our visitor's experience by offering valuable insights and assistance. For those interested in arts and culture, volunteering is an excellent way to meet like-minded people, and join the MAMA team.

Events for Teens
All students in Year 7 to Year 10 (or equivalent) are welcome, with classes tailored for every skill level. Our experienced tutors will guide you according to your level of experience, and help you build your foundation skills.

RAW25 is an annual showcase of the best original artworks produced by young people of the Murray region. This year’s exhibition features nine artists, highlighting the unique perspectives and experiences of our local young people.
The 2025 exhibition presents themes centred on the experience of being (a young) human – exploring self-identity, mental health, community, environment and belonging – through a range of mediums including painting, drawing, collage, printmaking, textiles and digital media.
Enjoy a day of art activities and creative projects tailored for secondary students aged 12 - 15 years.
