Lino Printing for Beginners
Discover the art of lino printing in this relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop designed for adults. Learn how to create and carve your own design, then print a series of striking single-colour artworks using traditional relief printing techniques. No experience is required, and all materials are provided. Leave with your own hand-printed creations and the confidence to continue exploring this versatile printmaking process at home.

Course Structure

Lesson 1: Draw your first design and transferring onto lino.

Lesson 2: Learning how to use the tools and carving the lino.

Lesson 3: Complete and refine your carving, ready for a trial proof print (T/P).

Lesson 4: Prepare and print 1 colour print. (setting up and preparing the ink, brayer and paper ready to print).




Is this course for me?

This 4 week course has been designed for complete beginners or those who haven’t done any lino printing since high school. Once students have completed this 4 week course, they will be ready for the Lino Printing with Colour course.
