Local Artists Announced for the 2024 Open Call Program
Murray Art Museum Albury have chosen the successful applicants for the 2024 Open Call program for local artists. Next year’s program will feature four artists and curators presenting works in solo and group exhibitions.
Each year, through a competitive application process, artists are selected to hold an exhibition at MAMA, supported throughout the process by MAMA’s Curatorial team. The program is dedicated to presenting the work of artists from our region as well as artists from beyond the region whose work is locally significant.
“The Open Call program has delivered some of our most loved exhibitions over the years. It is one of the many ways that MAMA celebrates the creativity and talent of artists who live in our region. This is why the Open Call program continues to play such an important and fundamental role in our artistic program each year.”
In 2024, North East Victorian artist Marie Salinger will present an exhibition featuring a series of large-scale paintings underpinned by the central theme of ‘Threshold’ exploring the places where art, nature and healing intersect.
Mat Vaughan is a visual artist who draws inspiration from the environment and people who surround him in the alpine village of Wandiligong, Victoria. He will be presenting a joyful and meditative selection of drawings and paintings.

Kelly Mugisha Ndayisaba will be curating an exhibition that brings to light the story and culture of the Mulenge people through the art of dance, photography, and painting.
Completing the 2024 program will be Albury based artist Nat Ward who will present an exhibition focusing on Noreuil Park, connecting a past historical event in France, which is honoured in our town, but not largely recognised.
The current 2023 program continues with upcoming exhibition of Albury artist Ririn Indah Puspita and Rutherglen artist Courtney Young.
