Jo Davenport lived and worked in Albury from her rural property just outside of Splitters Creek.
Davenport was inspired by the river ways and landscapes of the Murray region, drawing inspiration from the Murray River and Wonga Wetlands.
With this inspiration Davenport painted large scale oil paintings. These paintings were an abstract view of the environment, reducing the environment to impressions and marks of colour that allude to a reality.
Here & Now featured 11 large scale canvases that were exhibited for the first time at MAMA.
