Jim van Geet hails from North East Victoria. His love of painting the human figure allows him to regularly feature as an entrant in the Archibald Prize and other major portrait awards.
His exhibition Soul Journey, was described as a powerful series that illuminated not just the subject or the sitter in a physical sense, but brings to light who they are internally, their desires, passions and past.
van Gett's portrait subjects ranged from High Court Judges to homeless street dwellers.
