Guided Art Program

Two paintings of plant silhouettes laying on a table with paintbrushes, water tub and practice sketches sitting around them

Presented by Murray Art Museum Albury and the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital - a part of Ramsay Health Care, Guided Art Program is a free and artist-led program for children aged 8-10 who enjoy making art! Over four weekly sessions, participants will be guided through art activities with a local established artist to create paintings that will be selected for exhibition in the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital.

The sessions will feature an introduction to the artist and their work, and invite individual experimentation in colour, mark-making, and image creation inspired by the local environment.

Over the four weeks, participants will develop several paintings and drawings on paper. A selection of finished works will be professionally framed and exhibited at Albury Wodonga Private Hospital for a 12-month period, at which point they will be returned to the young artists.

The program aims to foster creativity and wellbeing though hands-on artmaking, connect young artists to practising established artists in the region and celebrate individual expression inspired by local identity and the environment.

The program is supported by the Albury Wodonga Private Hospital - a part of Ramsay Health Care.
