Join us for a conversation with artist Kelly Mugisha Ndayisaba, as we explore her artistic practice and the development of her first solo exhibition Now Seen.

Now Seen presents large-scale painting, photographs and video that capture the rhythmic and emotive moments intrinsic to Haya Haya dance, a traditional dance of the Mulenge people, one of 200 tribes that make up the multicultural nation of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

About the artist

Kelly Mugisha Ndayisaba is an interdisciplinary artist currently based in Melbourne. She was born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and spent her most formative years in Albury-Wodonga. Art has always been an integral part of her life, having inherited this passion from her mother, who encouraged Kelly to pursue making things with her hands and exploring her creativity. She now integrates elements of her heritage and culture into her artistic practice.
