We are thrilled to share the news announced by The Hon Paul Fletcher MP that MAMA has been successful in receiving a RISE grant of $240,000. The funds will be directed towards four new artist commissions for our foyer and public spaces over the next two years.

“We are grateful to the Australian Government for recognising the value of commissioning new artworks.” said MAMA Director Bree Pickering. “The new commissions will be an important addition to our regular programming, enhancing the impact of our museum space to visitors, and provide significant exhibition opportunities for Australian artists.”

The Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund is an Australian Federal Government initiative which is providing funds to projects to support the recovery of the arts & entertainment sector.

RISE grants of between $50,000 and almost $2 million will be allocated to 115 projects across Australia, supporting arts and entertainment sector organisations that are seeking to restart, re-imagine or create new cultural and creative activities. Around 21% of the funds are being directed to Regional Australia, highlighting the importance of arts and culture in reinvigorating regional economies though tourism, hospitality, and the reactivation of local audiences.
