Campfire Cook Up

When: Saturday 14 August, 12.00pm - 2.00pm

Where: Mirambeena Community Centre, 19 Martha Mews, Lavington

Price: FREE

Join us for an afternoon of storytelling and sharing, over the grill. Salote Tawale will be joined by special invited guests who will each prepare and cook a dish, speaking to the audience about their personal connection to their chosen meal. Participants will be invited to sample the food, and experience these recipes, processes and traditions first-hand.

Salote is an artist, who uses the perspective of her Indigenous Fijian and Anglo-Australian heritage to explore the identity of the individual within collective systems. Through self-performance, Tawale draws on personal experience of race, class, ethnicity and gender formed by growing up in Suburban Australia.

The event is free, food included and places are limited so book now to confirm your place.
