Jeff McCann is a Sydney based creative who works between the visual and performing arts through a wide range of mediums including public art, event decoration, illustration, workshops and fashion/wearables. His innovative practice strives to create inclusive work that encourages their audience to get involved.
Jeff’s choice to work with primarily recycled materials creates a playful and tactile quality to their work. He enjoys the challenged of taking what is considered “rubbish” and transforming it into something of value again.
Jeff’s illustrative style draws inspiration from textiles, fashion, street art, architecture and the natural environment. Utilising pattern, colour and often surreal composition to create work that depicts energetic and playful imagery.
Over the past few years Jeff has worked projects for clients including the City of Sydney, the Queen Victoria Building (QVB), City West Housing, the Surry Hills Creative Precinct, Heaps Gay and the Spilt Milk music festival.
He has created wearable pieces for performers such as Montaigne, Thelma Plum, Haiku Hands, Nina Las Vegas and Handsome.
