We are helpful

Volunteers play a crucial role in enhancing our visitor's experience at our museum. From giving simple directions to enjoying in-depth conversations about the artworks, our volunteers make a big difference to our visitors' cultural experience.

For those interested in arts and culture, volunteering is an excellent way to meet like-minded people, provide invaluable ‘behind the scenes’ support, and join a team of dedicated arts professionals and enthusiasts.

All volunteers begin in a Visitor Experience role, however from time to time we do seek specialist volunteers for particular projects. Do let us know if you have particular skills and experience that might be relevant when you fill in your application.

Visitor Experience Volunteers

Volunteers enhance the visitor experience by:
  • Greeting and assisting visitors with directions and information as they move about the museum
  • Ensuring visitors take care around the artworks
  • Conversing with visitors about the exhibitions, including information about the artists and artworks
  • Assisting children and families with interactive activities.
  • Presenting guided tours of the MAMA Collection
  • Researching background information about the exhibitions to share as a resource with other volunteers

We are grateful

If you are interested in volunteering on a regular basis, please get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.
We appreciate your generosity in giving your time to our museum.
