Since early 2000, the Baker Family has sponsored the John and Margaret Baker Fellowship.
The fellowship provides encouragement and financial assistance to an emerging photographer chosen from the MAMA Art Foundation National Photography Prize Exhibition.
John and Margaret Baker along with four friends were tragically killed in an plane crash in 1998. Margaret was a talented and imaginative photographer.
Previous winners include Glenn Sloggett, Maylei Hunt, Melissa McVeigh and Emily Portman.
The fellowship is open to artists living and working within the Murray region, which includes the Local Government areas of Wentworth, Balranald, Wakool, Conargo, Murray, Urana, Jerilderie, Berrigan, Greater Hume, Deniliquin, Corowa, Albury, Wodonga, Indigo and Towong.
