MAMA is showing CURRENT - an exhibition of sound art, video art and photography focusing on the Kiewa Hydro Scheme.

Curated by Philip Samartzis and Madelynne Cornish, CURRENT features leading national and international artists exploring issues of environmental sustainability using a range of audio, audio-visual and photographic methods to describe the industrialised landscape of the Bogong High Plains and Kiewa Valley.

This area is part of the Australian Alps, which are largely a national park. But they also produce 80% of Australia's fresh water supply and are home to complex industrial and commercial enterprises including alpine resorts and hydroelectric power schemes.

CURRENT
explores the relationship between the natural and constructed environment used to collect and exploit this water supply.

The exhibition features the work of David Burrows, an audio-visual installation artist, Geoff Robinson, who has exhibited internationally, Jungho Jung, a Korean photographer and Michael Vorfeld, a visual artist and musician based in Berlin.
