Art heavyweights from the National Gallery of Australia and Art Gallery of New South Wales have joined local representatives from the arts and business communities, to form the eight member MAMA Advisory Committee.
Committee members play a strategic leadership role in helping MAMA become the region's cultural icon. They provide expertise to support MAMA and Cultural Services staff, particularly in the areas of commercial acumen, entrepreneurial leadership, innovation, marketing and PR, philanthropy, strategy and stakeholder engagement.
Each member serves on the committee for two years, with the option to extend in August 2016.
Chair, Dr Guinever Threlkeld
Dr Threlkeld is Head of Campus, La Trobe University Albury-Wodonga.
Councillor Graham Docksey
Councillor Graham Docksey is the Councillor delegate with Councillor David Thurley the alternative representative.
John is currently Head Teacher of the Art School at James Fallon High School, North Albury with 32 years experience in arts education and as a practising artist.
Tony has been involved with the Albury Regional Art Gallery since its inception at its present site, firstly as Chairman of the then Board of Trustees and the founding Chairman of the Albury Wodonga Regional Arts Foundation. Tony continues in this position and is a prominent businessman. Tony is also Chair of the MAMA Art Foundation (Formerly Albury Wodonga Regional Art Foundation).
Jacinta is a museum professional and has an extensive experience and love of the arts. She is also a member of Arts Albury, the philanthropic committee building and cultivating relationships with key supporters and prospective supporters for the arts in Albury.
Les Tomich OAM
As a previous General Manager of AlburyCity Les has a passion for Albury, a deep understanding of local government and its function and has been a consistent champion of the art gallery and the cultural precinct development. Les is also a member of Arts Albury.
Mary is the Head of Travelling Exhibitions at the National Gallery of Australia, and originally from Albury.
Pauline is President of the Members of Murray Art Museum Albury (moMAMA), having an earlier career with arts programming and project management. She has a great love of the arts and has been involved with arts fundraising and events. She is a keen supporter of all arts development in Albury.
Caroline is the Assistant Exhibitions Registrar at the Art Gallery of NSW and has previously worked in both the Collections and Curatorial Departments at the Gallery. Caroline is originally from the Albury area.
