|Event Name||Drawn through Space: Ariadne's Thread - Nadia Odlum|
|Start Date||17th Jun 2016 10:00am|
|End Date||31st Jul 2016 4:00pm|
|Duration||44 days and 6 hours|
This winter school holidays the MAMA foyer will be filled with activities extending the theme of Nadia Odlum's installation Ariadne's Thread. Nadia has created this installation especially for MAMA, drawing upon the unique architecture, light and surfaces in the building to create a mind-bending ribbon-like path that plays with the perception of space, distance and angles.
Challenging viewers to look at linear dimensions from a new angle, activity stations will be set up around the foyer that will allow visitors to explore the theme in a practical way. From building, to drawing, to string art and threading, to pattern making, this exhibition will challenge the way we see and measure space, and translate it into art.
The activity stations will be active for the entire duration of the exhibition, including the school holidays. A great activity for a rainy day, these intergenerational activities will be enjoyed by all ages, from a toddlers to grandparents.
