Workshop: African Beading for Kids
When: 24 September, 10.30am - 12.30pm
Where: Studio within the Commonwealth Growth Centre, MAMA.
Using glass beads sourced from local markets in Ghana, artist Dorothy Amoateng teach children about the traditional patterns, and guide them in creating a personalised necklace and bracelet.
All materials included. Suitable for primary school children aged 7 - 12 years.
Dorothy is also teaching a workshop for older youth and adults on Saturday 23 September.
Meet Dorothy Amoateng
Dorothy moved to Australia from Ghana in 2014.
From a young age, Dorothy had a passion for craft, learning initially from her Aunties and then pursuing further studies in Ghana.
Since relocating to Australia, Dorothy has continued to create. She is developing a line of apparel, and building an online store.
