Weekend Art: Beyond Basics Watercolours
When: Saturdays, 29 April - 16 June, 1.00pm - 3.30pm
Where: Studio within Commonwealth Growth Centre, MAMA
Price: $190 ($171 moMAMA / Concession), $100 materials package (optional)
For students that have a strong grasp of foundation skills in watercolour painting, this course will build and refine your techniques as tutor Robyn White takes you beyond basics, including:
- Achieving good composition and unity
- Embracing dark and shade
- Introduction to watercolour on non-traditional surfaces
- Use of mediums to achieve different effects
- Loosening up and becoming more fluid in your movements
Working with each student individually, Robyn will help you identify areas of strengths and weakness, and work with you to help develop your artistic voice in this medium.
This course runs for 8 weeks either on a Monday night or Wednesday night, for an extended 2.5 hour class session.

Meet Robyn White
"Life is frittered away with detail…simplify, simplify" Henry David Thoreau
Robyn White is a local artist and experienced tutor, and although having worked in all mediums, loves the challenge and unpredictability of watercolour. With just over 20 years experience painting and over 10 years teaching the medium, it is no wonder she is a popular and sought after tutor.
Robyn has written articles for the Australian Artist Magazine, concentrating on simplifying subject matter to achieve better composition. She has exhibited and sold many of her works, both nationally and internationally.
Robyn recently opened her own Studio/Gallery, "324 The Studio" at 324 Beechworth Road, Wodonga.
