Workshop: Weaving with Treahna Hamm

Where: Workshop within Commonwealth Growth Centre, MAMA.
Celebrate NAIDOC week with Yorta Yorta artist Treahna Hamm, learning traditional weaving techniques.
Treahna will lead a demonstration in the morning, and then continue to guide and support participants that come and go in a relaxed day of weaving.
Visitors are welcome to stay for the whole session or drop in for a shorter amount of time. All materials are provided in this free workshop. Suitable for adults and children aged 13+
Meet the Artist
Treahna Hamm is a Yorta Yorta possum skin cloak maker, printmaker, sculptor, weaver, and painter. Treahna’s work is held in a number of international, national, state and university collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the National Museum of Australia, Koorie Heritage Trust, Print Council of Australia, National Museum of Ethnology in Japan, and Queensland University of Technology.
