Meet the Artist: Sandra McMahon

Sandra McMahon was the joint winner of the 2005 Windmill Trust Scholarship. Sandra will be presenting an artist talk at MAMA within the current 20th Anniversary Windmill Trust Exhibition in which she has four works.
The artist will speak about the impact of the Windmill Trust Scholarship on her career and art practice, as well as balancing the conflicts that have arisen between her arts industry career and her personal arts practice.
About the Artist
Sandra McMahon lives and works in Tamworth NSW. Sandra has been working in the Visual Arts for over 30 years. Staring out her career as a Visual Arts teacher/ lecturer at NSW TAFE for 8 years before moving into the gallery sector where she has worked across a range of positions at 3 Regional Galleries and 2 Commercial Galleries in NSW and ACT. Sandra holds a Diploma of Visual Arts (TAFE), a Graduate Diploma in Art History and Curating (ANU), and a Diploma of Management (UNEP). She also holds a Cert IV in Training Assessment and Education (TCC) and is a registered Art Valuer under the Australian Governments Cultural Gifts Program. Sandra has served as a Director on the Regional Arts NSW Board and the New England Regional Art Museum Board. Sandra is the owner/ Director of WESWAL Gallery, Tamworth.
