Darkroom Workshop: Exposure Experiments
When: Saturday 7 July, 9:00am - 12:00pm & 1:00pm - 4:00pm
Where: Workshop within the Commonwealth Growth Centre, MAMA
To celebrate our Season of Photography, we're bringing a series of four darkroom workshops to the MAMA Workshop. Led by professional photographers, the sessions will cover traditional photography processes and camera-less photography methods within a darkroom environment. Suitable for long-time photographers, first-timers, as well as those curious and interested in photo image-making. The four workshops include Photograms, Developing, Printing and Exposure Experiments.
Darkroom Workshop 4: Exposure Experiments
In this final workshop, artist James Farley will step you through some of the oldest exposure techniques, including cyanotypes and lumen printing, in our darkroom laboratory. This workshop will expand your thinking about what is possible in the world of image capture, without a camera.
James Farley is a finalist in the National Photography Prize 2018, with a series of beautifully composed lumen prints that utilise plant matter and sunlight to create camera-less images. Farley has a PhD in photography and is a lecturer in photography at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
All materials supplied. No camera required.
Suitable for ages 12+
