Since early 2000, the Baker Family has sponsored the John and Margaret Baker Fellowship.

The fellowship provides encouragement and financial assistance to an emerging photographer chosen from the biannual MAMA Art Foundation National Photography Prize exhibition.

John and Margaret Baker along with four friends were tragically killed in an plane crash in 1998. Margaret was a talented and imaginative photographer.

Previous winners include Glenn Sloggett, Maylei Hunt, Melissa McVeigh, Emily Portman, and Nat Ord.

The 2018 Fellowship was awarded to Ioulia Terizis, one of the finalists in the National Photography Prize 2018.

The fellowship is open to all Australian citizens and residents.
